RVM Nature Series: Video Product Acknowledgments

National Wildlife Refuges, Departments of Fish & Game, National Park and Forest Services, and the BLM: In traveling throughout California and all over the American West, we have had the privilege of meeting a number of professionals who work at our National Wildlife Refuges, Departments of Fish & Game, National Park and National Forest services, the BLM, and other public service agencies. We were extremely impressed with the scope of their work, the methods they use, and their dedication and care with which they perform the work of preserving our natural resources. Now, more than ever, they seem to do their jobs almost 'under the radar'. To all of them, we offer our most sincere appreciation and thanks.

HD, HDV, and SD Acquisition: All image-acquisition work was accomplished primarily with single-person/single-camera (and single-tripod) setups. We shot landscape and wildlife scenes using only natural sunlight and every image is 'pure' nature; there are no people, actors, roads, cars, or any other man-made objects in our video clips. Nothing was staged; we did not work in any special wildlife "ranches" or reserves that are fenced-in for hunters or photographers.

Most locations were from more remote areas accessed from roads and trails that, while less traveled, are still established as public roads and/or trails. All images were shot on public lands administered by the National Park services, National Forest services, National Wildlife Refuges, Bureau of Land Management, and/or other public agencies.

California: California is, in many ways, a composite of most states in the American West. There are great rivers that run slow and wide or fast and furious. There can still be found areas with an abundant variety of wildlife (although much diminished overall, from what it once was). There are some of the highest mountains in the 'lower 48,' some of the deepest canyons, and lowest points. There are the world's tallest, largest, and oldest trees, as well as vast desert regions, lush and fertile valleys, great plains, abundant wildflowers, sparkling lakes, and more than 1000 miles of coastline.

Nature Series-1: Our "Nature Series-1" is taken from rugged areas throughout the Sierra Nevada range, from the back-roads of Modoc, Siskiyou, and Del Norte Counties, from desert locations near Death Valley and Joshua Tree N.P., and up and down the coastline and coastal ranges; all over the open roads of California.

Cascades, Rocky Mountains, and the Southwest: The Cascade mountains range from northern Washington, through Oregon, and down to northern California. The southern end of the Cascades joins the northern-most Sierra and it can be difficult to know where one range ends and the other begins. The Cascades are known for deep, thick evergreen forests and towering volcanic mountains. Two of these ''volcanoes' erupted in the 20th century: Mount. St. Helens (in Washington) and Mount Lassen (in California). Famous among these is Mt. Rainier, Mt. Hood, and Mt. Shasta.

The Rocky Mountain states of Montana, Idaho, and Wyoming hold the last bastions of wilderness and wildlife that truly represents an America Lewis and Clark ‘discovered,’ that storied Mountain Men explored and trapped in, and that Native Americans lived in and loved.

The plains, prairies, mesas, rocky arches and buttes, cacti, pinion, and wildflowers, the great river canyons and labyrinth of 'lesser' hidden canyons and valleys--all are to be found in the Southwest. Some of these regions remain even now as they once were.

NS2-NS7: This RVM Nature Series was taken from the Cascade and Rocky Mountain states of Washington, Oregon, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming; from the Southwestern & Great Basin states of Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico, and Utah; and from throughout California.

RVM Classics & Folk Series: Music Product Acknowledgments

In this acknowledgment, we want to pay homage to the great composers from whose works we have been inspired, and we also wish to thank the "soundware" library developers, as their instruments and usage policies have enabled our efforts.

As stated elsewhere on this site, all of our tracks are derived from original scores created by the composers themselves. In producing these music tracks, we followed the score but did not in any way attempt to create representative works. We understand and respect that these composers created their works for 'real' players and orchestras. Our music tracks, on the other hand, are unique digital renditions; a special re-creation, so to speak, that is highly useful and practical in today's media world. In that context, we dedicate each work to the composers from whom they originate. We also want to thank the following digital instrument developers:

· Vienna Symphonic Libraries
· SoniVOX Symphonic Libraries
· Westgate Studios Wind & Brass
· Project SAM Brass
· SampleTEKK/PMI Keyboards
· Art-Vista Keyboards

Our Mission

Our mission with RioVista-Media is to provide a variety of digital products—video, images, music, and others—that offer producers a quality content option. We believe the beauty of pure nature and the traditions of classical and folk music offer a timeless content resource that can be utilized powerfully in storytelling and presentations.

America is a land of great beauty and resources and we, at RioVista Productions, are committed to creating digital media products that reflect some of that spirit. To that end, we are essentially committed to educational, family, and inspirational markets. However, we are certain these products have a wide range of positive commercial uses that are limited only by the imagination.
